The German author and former politician, Juergen Todenhoefer (Jürgen Todenhöfer), gave another interview about his journey to Syria and his meeting with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the end of last year.

The journalist and author Todenhoefer (Todenhöfer) studied law at the universities of Munich and also at the universities of Paris, Bonn and Freiburg. Of course, afterwards he worked as a judge and became a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in 1970.

Todenhoefer is known as one of the most prominent Germans, who criticize the US-led wars against Afghanistan and against Iraq. This German author and journalist is also convinced that the former U.S. administration under Bush was deceiving the public about Iraq.

Juergen Todenhoefer (Jürgen Todenhöfer) gave another interview to the German newspaper “Der Tagesspiegel” about his journey to Syria and his experiences and opinions about the situation within this country of the Middle East. It is finally no secret anymore that Todenhoefer is also convinced about the fact, that Western media use lies and false propaganda.

Partly because they just use the non-credible Gulf States-Media as sources, without questioning the information. Despite the fact that these Western journalists know about the lack of credibility, confirmation and evidence of channels like al Jazeera and al Arabiya. Not to mention the journalists who have no clue about the events, but have to use such “sources” and ticker information to save their jobs.

You can see by the way of the questions of this interrogator (Tagesspiegel), that he might have no real clue or uses this art of questions for propaganda purposes. Even the first question shows this directly. Juergen Todenhoefer was asked about the fact that he visited Syria in last November and even has met with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The interrogator (Der Tagesspiegel) asked if al-Assad knows that he is at the end. What a journalistic valuable question! (Irony..) Not to mention that this questions makes it clear that the person who interviews Todenhoefer has not much clue about the history and actual events of Syria.

The German author Todenhoefer (Todenhöfer) answered that it is not yet decided if al-Assad is at his end. He also mentioned within his answer that there are peaceful demonstrations against but also demonstrations for the Syrian President, involving hundreds of thousands Syrian people who take part at these pro-government rallies.

“Some people call “Away Assad”, others call “Assad Democracy”, so Juergen Todenhoefer in his first answer at this interview with the German newspaper.

Todenhoefer does not hide the fact that there are violent confrontations within Syria. He clearly mentioned that there are also armed rebels in Syria. Of course, he also said that there are the Syrian army and intelligence agencies on the other side of this violence in Syria.

Afterwards, Juergen Todenhoefer was asked in the second question whether he is really convinced that the Syrian President is much more popular than the West thinks. You see, the person behind the questions showed his lack of knowledge again.

The German journalist and former politician, Todenhoefer (Todenhöfer), answered that the Syrian President al-Assad is still very popular in a remarkably large proportion of the Syrian population. He also mentioned in his answer, that the Western coverage about the situation in Syria is far removed from the reality of the situation in Syria. Just like it was before the war of Iraq.

Todenhoefer explained, that he has been to Arab countries while the so-called “Arab Spring”. In Egypt, everybody told him, that Mubarak has to step down. In Tunisia, everybody told him, that Ben Ali must go. In Libya, everybody told him, that Gaddafi has to go.

But in Syria, there is a considerable majority which does not see a problem in Assad. Many Syrians make a huge distinction between the Syrian President al-Assad and the so-called Syrian regime. Of course, we have to say that we also know a lot of people within Libya, who supported Gaddafi and we are a bit surprised that Todenhoefer missed the reality there.

The German author also spoke about the amount of deaths in Syria. He also said that he condemns any violence against civilians and we agree immediately.

He also explained in that interview that the people need to know about the complex situation in Syria, that there is a high percentage of killed soldiers, killed police officers and also of killed civilians who were murdered by armed rebels, within the “official western” number of deaths in Syria. We know, that this fact is not mentioned within the most Western reports about the amount of deaths in Syria.

Todenhoefer (Todenhöfer) also mentioned in this interview with that German newspaper, which should be better prepared about the truth of events next time, that al Jazeera and Al Arabiya produce campaign-like messages and reports, always from the perspective of the so-called Syrian “opposition” and that the West babbles after them, without investigation of the messages and while knowing there is a lack of credibility and confirmation – even a lack of evidence.
