The author and journalist Webster Tapley is in Damascus after he visited Homs and had a new interview with the Russian television station RussiaToday (RT). Before the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the calls from West and Arab countries for the Syrian opposition to avoid dialogue with the Syrian government are only provoking further violence. Lavrov said that the west is stirring up tensions in the Middle East by calling for the overthrow of the Syrian president and its government.
Also the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said that violence has to be stopped but that this demand has to be addressed to the authorities and the armed groups in the Syrian opposition.
The author and journalist Webster Tarpley told RussiaToday (RT) that he has been on a so called “fact finding tour” through Syria – he completed a one-week tour and visited Syrian cities like Homs, Tartous, Banias and so on. Then he tolds the Russian moderator that all the ethnical groups like Christians, Sunnites, and Shiites are telling him the same. They told him for example that are being shoot at by snipers, particularly in Homs.
The Syrian people complained that there are terrorist snipers who are shooting at civilians and don`t care about if they shoot at women and children, too. This is something that Webster Tarpley understandable calls a blind terrorism and random killing to destabilize Syria. Afterwards he goes on explaining that the Syrian government and citizens have to deal death swats and terror commands with and he would not call it a civil war, of course (in contrast to Condoleezza Rice).
Webster Tarpley calls all this a kind of thing which everybody from Argentina and Central America remembers – a typical CIA method. In the case of Syria he thinks that it is a joint production by the CIA, Mossad, MI6 and other services. Then the journalist and author Webster Tarpley spoke about the financial support for these armed and violent gangs in Syria. He mentioned countries like Saudi-Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
After that Webster Tarpley spoke about Abd al-Halim Chaddam (Abdul Halim Khaddam) who is known as the former president (10. – 17. June 2000) and vice president (1984 -2000 & 2000 – 2005) of Syria. Tarpley names Abdul Khaddam (Chaddam) somebody who is responsible for a lot of violence in Syria and seems to be chosen from the NATO as a new “dictator” for Syria meanwhile Khaddam is said to operate in Paris, France.
Then the moderator from RussiaToday (RT) asked Webster Tarpley if he thinks that the overthrown of the Syrian president Bashar al Assad could cause more violence and terror in Syria and compared it to the situation at the Tahrir Square in Cairo, Egypt.
Tarpley answered that after Libya became a blood bath with over 50,000 (or even 150,000) deaths and that Egypt shows that there was no revolution there and the people in Egypt begin to understand it that it was a complete failure. Afterwards the journalist Webster Tarpley names people like the US foreign minister Hillary Clinton and the former US Secretary of the USA, Condoleezza Rice together with members of the Muslim Brotherhood, al Qaeda and Salafists – nothing new for the Syrian people in Homs, Idleb and Hama.
Of course, the author Webster Tarpley realized the growing movement in the Islamic community in Syria and that radical fanatics are not welcomed in a secular country like Syria. He also blames the west to support and bring in the religious fanatic groups to Syria. Afterwards he speaks about the “regime change” and the things Syria stand for as a country. A good harmony between different ethnics and religions.
He calls Syria a modal of a peaceful coexistence of different ethics. Also Tarpley explains where and why this situation in Syria escalates and talks a bit about the media campaign against Syria and that you even find supporters of Bashar al Assad in the area of Homs.
They told him that they want the Syrian army to come there – and even wrote that on a lot of walls because they need help against the armed and violent gangs. They don`t want to get killed because of their religion, opinion or just because they aren`t so “Anti-Assad” like them. Then Tarpley talks about his experiences in a hospital in Homs and the fakes by the television channel al Jazeera.
To him nothing in Syria looks like the civil war in Libya and someone like Webster Tarpley should know where the differences are between the situation in Syria and the situation in Libya.
The journalist Webster Tarpley confirms the reports by a lof of Syrian people from Hama, Homs, Idleb and other areas in Syria who are calling the Syrian army to help them against the armed gangs – or shall we say against the “Free Syrian Army” (Free Syria Army)?
Finally is it nothing new to us and the Syrian people what Webster Tarpley speaks about but is good to hear and see that even others like some tourists and visitors see and feel the same in the last months. So Webster Tarpley does – someone who should know how to make differences and what to believe and, of course, not to believe.
